Colorado Blue Columbine Seeds
One of the sweetest flowers in spring gardens is the columbine. This perennial grows well in most any springtime climate and in well-drained soil. For the best flowering and healthiest plants, a spot in partial shade is ideal. Columbine plants can handle full sun in cooler climates but are sensitive to high temperatures. Hot temperatures will cause the plant to go dormant in the summer. Cooler weather will produce more flowers. The Columbine flower was adopted as the official state flower of Colorado on April 4, 1899.
