Snack-Sized Almonds from California

California produces 80% of the world's almonds and 100% of the United States' commercial supply. Although almonds are not native to California, a hot, dry Mediterranean climate and developed water infrastructure created favorable conditions for commercial cultivation of the crop. Increasingly, California’s almond farmers have reduced water usage, embraced zero waste, and work to provide safe habitats for honey bees who pollinate the crop. California has a goal marker for the year 2025 which will make strides towards a more sustainable future for the almond farming industry.
