Step into a world of fiery dances, moonlit serenades, and sultry melodies as Jâca invites you on a musical journey to the Spain of dreams and legends. From Bizet’s Carmen to Ravel’s hypnotic Bolero, Debussy’s impressionistic landscapes, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s dazzling Capriccio Espagnol, the award-winning duo pairs the guitar—the soul of Spanish music—with the hypnotic and seductive lyricism of the clarinet to capture the exotic essence that inspired Europe’s greatest composers.

For centuries, Spain has existed in the European imagination as a land of passion and mystery, fueling a musical fantasy that shaped some of the most beloved works of all time. In The Spanish Muse, Jâca brings this fantasy to life, pairing these masterpieces with the authentic voice of Spanish composers like Rodrigo, Albéniz, and de Falla, revealing the real Spain behind the myth

* Program announced from the stage

Journey to the sun-drenched streets of Spain and the winding alleys of Portugal, where music is more than sound—it’s a way of life. In Iberia, Jâca brings to life the vibrant sounds of Flamenco and Fado—two of the most iconic musical traditions from the Iberian Peninsula.

As a duo with deep connections to both traditions—Wesley Ferreira, of Portuguese heritage, and Jaxon Williams, based in Spain—Jâca offers an authentic yet fresh perspective on these iconic styles. Iberia is more than a concert; it’s an immersive experience, bringing audiences into the heart of Iberian music.

Flamenco, with its fiery strumming and driving rhythms, is the heartbeat of Spain. Fado, Portugal’s deeply emotional song tradition, is known for rich melodies and longing expressiveness. In this program, Jâca reimagines these powerful styles with their signature combination of guitar and clarinet, creating an experience that is both authentic and fresh.

Featuring music inspired by legends like Paco de Lucía, Amália Rodrigues, and Carlos Paredes, Iberia highlights the beauty and depth of these traditions in a way that is accessible to all audiences.

Folk-ed Up Jazz

Jazz may be the ultimate cool cat of the music world, but deep down, it’s been dancing to folk rhythms all along. From the bluesy roots of Gershwin to the foot-stomping swing of Django Reinhardt, from Brazil’s choro street parties to the wild and untamed sounds of Balkan brass, jazz has always borrowed from the music of the people.

In Folk-ed Up Jazz, we take a trip through the globe’s folk-jazz melting pot, where tradition meets improvisation, and melodies are passed down like old family recipes—sometimes with a little extra spice. Expect everything from American jazz classics to fiery klezmer, slinky Django-style swing, and the irresistible grooves of Brazil. It’s folk music, it’s jazz, and it’s all kinds of folk-ed up.
